Timothy Findley's "The Wars" is an operatic book about the casualties of war, an eye opening novel which I love and appreciate. In this school project, we were challenged to create opening credits of a fictional film from a choice of book. The story arc must be visible in the reel and the main characters must be clearly represented. I managed to address these by experimenting with paper fragments set on fire and droplets of ink to illustrate war and chaos. With the help of archival photos, I was able to give an epic opening for an epic book.
