Illustration/Vector Art/Poster Series
Travel posters that takes you to the destination.

Travel posters are great ephemera like postcards for highlighting what makes a landmark so special and enticing to visit just by looking at them. It gives out the essence of escapism and nostalgia. I wanted to create a poster that is both inviting and interactive, so to elevate from a marketing or a display material into an immersive and informative print. My goal was to infuse modern travel guides into the printed media, mixing print and digital format together to create a sense of synergy and elevate it into an interactive working poster. I made a series of illustrations combined with design aesthetic that make it appear so. I also experimented with symbols and took advantage of QR codes, used as main device to give the poster life and with added functionality.

Gradient rave and 80s nostalgia

This poster series is a tribute to classic travel posters of Neo-80s and new wave visual language. I felt they make good colours and with the use of vectors, I was able to illustrate simple but effective way of capturing a landmark. Here, I used neon colours such as cyan, magenta, purple, turquoise, and so on. Blended together to form sceneries that bring about nostalgia.

Functional and awe inspiring posters.

I used the sun disk as a visual motif that correspond to the time and place of each landmark in a way as if the posters are taken at the same time from different places. The physical print version of the posters have QR code links to specific travel websites that provides information on the featured landmark. The result is a modernized interactive and information aided travel poster guide.
